New Trowse Primary School Designs – Evening to have a peek

Exciting scheme to relocate and enlarge Trowse Primary School

Display of plans for proposed new school and nursery on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th October 2017

An opportunity for parents, residents and others interested in the future of the school to view the proposed plans for a new school to be built off White Horse Lane.

As many of you will be aware the growth in new houses in Trowse has prompted Children’s Services to seek to relocate the current school to a brand new site within the Norfolk Homes housing development. This will provide the school with a modern building with its own large hall, modern classrooms area and playing field. This new building will allow the school to grow, slowly over the coming years, to a 210 place school, double its current capacity. The plans also propose building a separate nursery building on the site.

A design team from NPS Property Consultants Ltd has been working closely with the school and the County Council on possible solutions and we are getting close to agreeing a final design. We anticipate submitting a planning application in the next couple of months but before we do so we would like to share the proposal with parents and residents.

An informal exhibition event will be held at Trowse Primary School on Tuesday 17th October from 5.30pm to 8.00pm and Wednesday 18th October from 3:30pm to 6.00pm. Representatives from NPS, the school and County Council will be on hand to answer any questions. Once the planning application has been submitted there will be the usual opportunity for individuals and interested parties to express their views to the planning authority in the form of formal submissions. If approved, it is hoped work could start next summer with completion the following year.

If you are unable to attend this event, but would still like to view the proposals, the display boards will remain at the school until the end of November. If you would like to contact the school to view the boards please call them on 01603 622485 and they will try to accommodate any reasonable request to view the proposals.

Or if you would like to discuss any of the above or have any queries regarding the proposals please contact Steve Hicks, Children’s Services Project Officer on 01603 222510 or email
