Moooooo!!

You may have seen some cows on the far side of the common. In case you wondered what they are doing there, it's all part of the Fringe project to turn that part of the common into a wonderful meadow full of meadowy things.

The first part of the job is to get rid of all the nasty things that grow if you let the common, well, grow. Over the years until the Parish Council was donated the land from Crown Point Estates, it was rather unkempt so all sorts of nasties grew.

The cows will eat them all and poo all over the place, hence apparently, encouraging the things that are nicer on commons to grow. Combined with new seed being sewn shortly should make the common a wonderful grassland full of things that will make couples hold hands and skip across the grass lovingly.

A huge thanks to Matt from the Fringe for his continued support, Crown Point for the loan of the cows and May Gurney for helping out with all the fencing.
