Any company is an important part of the community. We may think May Gurney just as a large developer, but really, for Trowse, they are really important for the community.

Given Trowse is head office, the staff all contribute to the local enconomy, spending money in the pubs, the bakery and Peter's shop.

Probably, without May Gurney being there many of the facilities in Trowse wouldn't exist.

Their willingness to help is largely down to want to play their part in the local community. Of course, Trowse is not a charity and their involvement does mean it says that May Gurney is more than just a big developer.
