May Gurney/Liesa Prewer in action in the village.

You may have noticed on the way into Trowse the area around the sign has rather changed.

Although many people take it for granted, local people have been maintaining the area for quite some time. Keeping it in tip-top condition takes lots of work! For Liesa and Tim who have been looking after it for some time, the offer of help from May Gurney was most welcome.

Ian Findlater, MD of May Gurney very kindly offered to help out in many ways to help make Trowse an even nicer place.

The first of many jobs to be undertaken with their kind help has been to landscape the area around the Trowse sign and make it easier to maintain. The others include building play equipment, fixing and installing new gates and making the far common better for Trowse’s inhabitants.

To do this, 4 workers from May Gurney helped Liesa dig it over and root out many of the old plants. Then, a membrane was put down to keep the weeds from coming back and then covered in environmentally friendly wood chips.

Highways Nurserys on the Lowestoft road have very kindly offered to donate new shrubs and plants to make the area fantastic for summer.

So although at the time of writing, it does look a little bare, it is promised the area will be fantastic for summer with the help of May Gurney and Highway Nurseries!

So a big thanks to Liesa Prewer, May Gurney and Highways for their wonderful hard work and help. Check out the May Gurney Photo Gallery for photos of their work.
